A powerful voice against bullying Psychologist to lead community program for parents

Against School BullyingNEWBURYPORT — The devastating consequences of bullying and cyberbullying have played out in the media and prompted big changes in the way schools and parents respond to incidents once considered a child’s rite of passage through adolescence.

But even as schools and communities across the state have cracked down on bullying behaviors, today’s ever-changing technological world continues to present new challenges for those striving to keep children safe.
To help parents stay ahead of the curve, the school district is hosting a visit from psychologist Elizabeth Englander, director and founder of the Massachusetts Aggression Reduction Center at Bridgewater State University, on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Rupert A. Nock/Molin Auditorium on Low Street.
