This course is based on a chapter that has been excerpted from Treatment Improvement Protocol Manual #53: Addressing viral Hepatitis in People with Substance Use Disorders. This chapter specifically addresses the treatment recommendations for Hepatitis A, B and C.

1.  Outline overall treatment recommendations for Hepatitis A, B, and C.

2.  Discuss hepatitis treatment considerations for people with substance abuse issues.

3.  Identify the various medications used to treat hepatitis.

4  Describe the implications of HCV/HIV co-infection and for those with co-occurring behavioral health disorders.
