Marriage and Family Therapist Ethics

CE Course Description
This course is based upon the revised AAMFT Code of Ethics. Law and Ethics govern the practice of marriage and family therapy. When making decisions regarding professional behavior, marriage and family therapists should consider the AAMFT code of Ethics and applicable laws and regulations.
CE Course Objectives
1.  Evaluate the role of law and ethics in guiding marriage and family therapists as they make decisions regarding professional behavior and ensure the welfare of their clients.
2.  Describe steps taken my marriage and family therapists to maintain high standards of professional competence and integrity and to respect confidentiality.
3.  Discuss the therapist's responsibility to maintain the trust and dependency of students, supervisees, and research participants.
4.  Identify strategies that therapists use to preserve professional and financial integrity.
